The Party Line publishes every call. Here is exactly what that means for you, in plain English.
Last updated October 4, 2026
The short version
- Your phone number is never published. Not on the page, not in the audio, not anywhere on this site.
- Your voice is disguised. We change its pitch in the live stream and in every recording, so it doesn't sound like you.
- Personal details are removed. Names, addresses, numbers and similar details are bleeped from the audio and taken out of the transcript.
- You appear only as a nickname that you choose on the call.
- You can take your call down anytime with the six-digit code you get at the end of the call.
What the show is
The Party Line is a live, phone-in show hosted by Remy, an AI character. Remy sleeps until someone calls. When you call, the conversation is streamed live on this website with a short delay and then published here as a page: a recording, a transcript with speaker labels, a short summary, a takeaway and any sources that came up during the call. Later callers can continue a topic you started.
What we collect when you call
- The call audio from the moment you are on the air.
- A transcript of the conversation, with speaker labels.
- The nickname you choose. It is the only name that appears anywhere.
- A one-way keyed hash of your phone number. We use it only to enforce per-day call limits and blocks. We cannot recover your number from it, and we never publish or store your number in readable form.
Our telephony carrier sees your phone number in order to connect the call, as any carrier does.
Consent
Before anything is recorded you hear a short notice — that the call is live, will be published online under a nickname, and that your voice is disguised and your number never shared — and you press 1 to agree. If you don't press 1, nothing is recorded. The host is an AI character and the conversation is generated by software; you are not talking to a person.
What gets published
For each call: the recording, a redacted transcript, a summary, the sources that came up and your nickname. The call is also streamed live on this website with a short delay. Your voice is disguised with a pitch shift in both the live stream and the published recording; the host's voice is not changed. The disguise makes your voice hard to recognise, but it can't change your words or the way you tell a story, so treat anything you say on the air as public. We remove the personal details we catch — phone numbers, addresses, full names, account numbers and the like — before publishing. But a live broadcast cannot be fully controlled, so please don't share your own or anyone else's personal details on the air.
Who processes it
Audio and text are processed by third-party AI and cloud providers (speech, language-model and hosting services) to run the show, and those providers may process or review audio and text to provide and improve their services. Our telephony carrier handles the call itself. When Remy looks something up during a call, our search provider receives the scrubbed search query — never your number or the recording.
Retention and removal
Published calls stay online until removed. You can remove your call at any time with the six-digit call code Remy read at the end of the call, at /remove or by calling (904) 467-6969 and pressing 9. Removal deletes the recording and the transcript. Cached copies on content delivery networks may persist for a short time, and we cannot recall copies other people made while the call was live. Raw recordings are deleted within a week of the call.
